Energy Booster

  • Do you struggle to open your eyes and drag yourself out of bed each morning?
  • Does your local barista know your life story?
  • Would you rather be taking a nap at 3pm instead of picking up the kids from school or working on the report that’s due by the end of the day?
  • Is chocolate your best friend?
If you answered ‘Yes’ to any (or all) of the above – you’re not alone!
In talking to clients in my clinic, I’m constantly surprised at how many of them think that feeling this tired all the time is actually normal! Let me assure you – feeling like you have to drag yourself through each day is most definitely not normal.
Fatigue is a feeling of weariness, tiredness, or lack of energy that doesn’t go away when you rest. Unfortunately, fatigue is often misunderstood and even labelled as laziness.

What can cause fatigue?

  • Poor diet and lifestyle choices
  • Digestive disorders
  • Nutritional deficiencies
  • Blood sugar imbalances
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Anxiety, stress, depression
  • Poor quality sleep
  • Adrenal fatigue
  • Thyroid dysfunction
  • Low grade chronic infection
  • Underlying medical problems
So what is it that makes one person have endless energy and another so tired that they struggle to undertake some of the most basic tasks every day?
In order to answer this question, it is first necessary to examine and address any underlying issues that may be affecting your state of health and therefore contributing towards your lack of energy. Common factors that can negatively influence your energy levels include diet, lifestyle, emotions – and even the way you breathe!
As a first priority in the Energy Booster Program, it is important to ensure that that there are no underlying health issues. For example, anaemia, low thyroid function, adrenal fatigue, or blood sugar imbalances can all play a significant role in why you are feeling so tired all of the time – despite doing all of the ‘right’ things. These health conditions are most accurately determined through pathology testing, which will most often be conducted via collaboration with your GP.
Any underlying health issues, if they exist, will be supported with the appropriate herbal, nutritional and lifestyle strategies. I often find that once these underlying conditions are corrected, energy levels increase automatically without any further action needing to be taken.
While there may be some common themes relating to fatigue, each individual is unique and it is important that your own needs are considered in any treatment program.
